Lead board and barium sulfate are the two main protective materials used in hospitals today, and their respective construction methods.

   There are two main protective construction materials for hospitals, one is directly protected with lead plates, the other is plastering walls with barium sulfate concrete or special protective paint. Their respective construction methods are:

Lead board protection construction:

1. Glue the lead plate to the high-density board with glue.

2. If the wall is a solid wall, use a lead plate to wrap the wall on the original wall surface. The protection effect is the best, and it must be operated by professional construction personnel.

3. If there is no solid wall, it needs to be partitioned. On the original wall, make a dragon frame according to the size of the lead plate, and fix the lead plate on the wall. The joints should be staggered to prevent radiation leakage. Use lead The board should not have blisters, unevenness, etc. The gap left by the lead plate of the keel is about 2.5 times the thickness of the lead plate, which is slightly thicker for the welding of the joints;

4. The nails left during the installation of the lead plate should also be protected to prevent leakage.

Barium sulfate protection construction:

1. Mix barium sulfate and cement in an appropriate ratio.

2. Hang barbed wire on the existing wall.

3. Apply barium sulfate once, and then apply it a second time after it is completely dry.

4. Because the barium sulfate will crack after it dries, it will leak lines. Brushing it again can solve this problem well.

   Barium sulfate protective material not only has the same ability to block radiation as the lead plate, but also minimizes the generation of secondary rays, and achieves a good protective effect on the body of the staff and patients. But the top protection in the protective construction room must be done on the ground of the upper layer. If the ground of the upper layer has been done, then the top protection of this layer can only be done directly on top of the lead plate.
