Stainless steel is made by adding a certain content (usually 10.5%~30%) of chromium on the basis of carbon steel. It has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than ordinary steel. In order to achieve the anti-rust function of steel, the chromium content is generally required to be above 12%. At the same time, in order to enhance the performance, in addition to the higher content of chromium, other alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese are also added to the stainless steel.  

Different alloy ratios constitute different types of stainless steel. The standard composition of 304 series stainless steel is 18%-20% chromium plus 8%-10% rare metal nickel, so it is also called 18/8 stainless steel or 18/10 stainless steel. It is a steel with stable properties and high safety, which is widely used in high-end cookware. Compared with traditional pots such as aluminum pots and iron pots, it has significant advantages in the following aspects: 
1. Durable, has good corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and fire resistance, and has a longer service life than aluminum pots and iron pots. Therefore, although stainless steel pots are several times or even dozens of times more expensive than ordinary aluminum pots and iron pots, they are worth the money based on the average cost of the service life.  
2. Stable in nature. 18/8 stainless steel will not ooze out when it is heated. It can be used to cook food and can be eaten more assuredly.  
3. Stainless steel cookware has a natural silver luster, no surface treatment such as color plating, no need to worry about color fading, and can show a crystal clear and bright appearance for a long time.  
4. Easy to clean and not easy to adhere to dirt, simple and convenient to clean. Some exquisite stainless steel pots and pans can be cleaned and shiny with just one swipe after use, and it is very easy to take care of.
